Hazrat Masumah (SA) is a woman of high rank, and her position has its roots in her insight and knowledge on the velayat or Islamic rule, said the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi.
Speaking on the first day of the Karamat ten-day celebrations at the holy shrine of Hazrat Masumah (SA) in Qom, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi expounded on the personality of Imam Reza's sister, saying, "The holy shrine of Hazrat Masumah (SA) is second only to the shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (SA) in shrines religiously recommended for pilgrimage. This indicates well her high rank in Islam."
He added: "Hazrat Masumah (SA) was educated by two Imams, Imam Musa Kazim (AS) and Imam Reza (AS), enjoying a sort of Divine, spiritual and epistemological upbringing."
According to the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, Hazrat Masumah (SA) enjoyed a high scientific rank "so that when Imam Musa Kazem (AS) was on journey, she took care of the religious and scientific questions of the Shia Muslims."
Hazrat Masumah (SA) migrated from Medina, experienced many hardships and finally lost her life dutring her mission to promote the pillars of Islamic rule and leadership, Marvi further noted.
Calling her a devotee of the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims, Hoj. Marvi drew a comparison between Hazrat Masumah (SA) and Hazrat Abbas (AS), saying "Hazrat Abbas (AS) gave his life for his brother Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Masumah (SA) sacrificed her life in the cause of her brother Imam Reza (AS)."
The relations between Hazrat Masumah (SA) and Imam Reza (AS), as Hoj. Marvi pointed out, was not merely a brother-sister relation, "rather, it was a relation between disciple and mentor, follower and Imam.”
He added that Imam Hussein (AS) and Imam Reza (AS) are better understood through Hazrat Abbas (AS) Hazrat Masumah (SA) respectively.
Calling for performing pilgrimage at the holy shrines physically, whole-heartedly and spiritually, Hoj. Marvi stated that the honor and dignity of Shia Muslims in this world and the world after depend upon proving to be a loyal follower of the Islamic jurisprudent of the time as well as the real followers of the Infallible Imams, messengers and friends of Allah.
