AQR announces readiness to host scientific circles in cooperation with universities

Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) and Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine establishment are ready to host scientific roundtables and free-thinking circles through cooperation with university professors and scholars.

Addressing the president and a group of professors at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, referred to the great role of universities and academic centers in views of Imam Khomeini (RA) and Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, saying: “Hosting the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and its pilgrims, Mashhad must become a model for other cities and turn into a scientific center for the country.”

He added: “The goal cannot be achieved unless precise programming, great endeavor, and persuasive theses come into the universities’ agenda”.

Stressing AQR’s readiness for expansion of academic ties with all scientific centers particularly Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, he stated: “We do believe that if a service wants to be enduring, it should be juxtaposed with scientific principles”.

Emphasizing that there is no room for emotional and personal decisions and actions in AQR, Hoj. Marvi added: “All activities in affiliations of AQR must be based on scientific principles”.

He pointed to issues related to the principle of ‘enjoining good and forbidding evil’, he said: “It is our main belief that whatever is done in this area must take into account the religious, psychological, sociological, anthropological, communicative aspects of the individual and society. AQR is now waiting for the consultative opinions of the related experts before any decision-making”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, AQR’s chief custodian pointed to the common grounds for cooperation between his respective organization and higher education centers, adding: “Astan Quds Razavi is ready to hold various scientific roundtables and free thinking circles through cooperation with university students and professors in order to render more and better services to the pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS)”.

Hoj. Ahmad Marvi went on to say: “AQR calls on all universities for help in giving more appropriate services to the pilgrim of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine through offering knowledge-based projects. Ferdowsi University of Mashhad can be a good bridge between AQR and other Iranian and foreign academic centers”.

Referring to the new non-governance policy of Astan Quds Razavi, Marvi brought his address to end, saying: “Non-governance policy is implemented in a wide range of activities. “Fundamental revisions will be done in different areas of management. We do our best to bring AQR’s governance into the lowest possible amount and at the same time advantages of other section’s capacities such as universities are taken into account”.

The ceremony also saw an address by Dr. Mohammad Kafi president of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in which he offered a report on the performance of the university as sole scientific pole of the nation on the northeast. Kafi also welcomed AQR’s chief custodian’s suggestions for more cooperation between the two sides and announced Ferdowsi University’s full readiness for more interactions.
