The first international conference of Religious Education in the Abrahamic Religions has been held in the shrine city of Mashhad.
Morteza Rojoui, at the opening ceremony of the conference, told a group of Astan Quds Razavi officials and leading domestic and foreign religious scholars that 100 domestic and foreign active organizations have cooperated for the conference.
The secretariat of the conference was formed at Imam Reza International University to receive papers from several countries namely Iraq, Lebanon, India and France.
Rojoui also commented that 15 faculty members reviewed 230 papers submitted to the secretariat at various sessions of which 150 selected papers and abstracts have been published.
Referring to active participation of 25 domestic scientific-academic institutions, and the collaboration of eight scientific and international centers, he noted that, “Imam Reza (AS) University and Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi are among the domestic cooperating institutions and the seminary schools countrywide, al-Mustafa University, Islamic Azad University, Baqir al-Ulum University, the Ministry of Education etc., are amidst the participants of the conference.”
The head of the International University of Imam Reza (AS) added that there were 5 pre-sessions for this conference, one of which took place this November at Imam Reza (AS) International University, in Lebanon last December and in the Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi and Razavi University of Islamic Sciences in January and the last one was held in India in February.
“The papers submitted to the secretariat of the conference are based on theoretical and empirical studies,” he said.
The international conference is being held at the Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi in two days on March 4–5 this year, which is the host to 8 specialized sessions and 5 events. Furthermore, eight short speeches from individuals experienced in religious education will be delivered.
