“With the aim of solidarity and publishing the teachings of the Infallible Imams (AS), books in 21 different languages are produced electronically, distribution of which among non-Iranian subscribers in cyberspace is foreseen,” said the director of Non-Iranian Pilgrims Affairs of Astan Quds Razavi.
Seyyed Mohammad Javad Hasheminejad, according to Astan News correspondent, stated that along with the passionate and romantic presence of the Iranian people, over 5 million non-Iranian pilgrims and tourists arrive in the holy city of Mashhad for pilgrimage every year. “This massive presence lays a heavy duty on the shoulders of pilgrims’ hosts in this department,” he said.
He then went on the various programs in different languages in four places for numerous groups such as Arabic, Urdu and Azeri speaking pilgrims as well as tourists, which will be performed at 3 times in the holy shrine.
Hasheminejad, touching on the different programs for foreign pilgrims in the holy shrine over the course of the year added that nearly 5000 special programs for foreign pilgrims, such as promotional events, classrooms, workshops, contests, poetry nights, etc., and over 60 specialized meetings due to the cultural and scientific background of the sacred establishment are being held.
“At present, Astan Quds Razavi has contact with thirteen hundred international Islamic centers in the world and 120 countries and sends promotional packages for non-Iranian subscribers by the means of email and postal service,” he remarked.
Referring to the activities of the department on social networks, he also pointed out that the Office of the Islamic Communication and Non-Iranian Pilgrims Affairs have significant presence in social networks in 12 languages (Arabic, Urdu, Azeri, Turkish, English, French, Spanish, Pashto, Russian, Husa, Bengali and Indonesian) with 784,000 followers and in 7 messenger apps including Telegram, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Wiki, Twitter, WhatsApp, so that there are only 500,000 followers in Instagram in Arabic, Urdu and English, which is one of the most followed apps of the holy shrine.
